Vikhyat Bebarta is a professor and the vice chair of strategy and growth at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where he advances initiatives that redefine emergency medicine, pharmacology, acute trauma care, and military medicine. He is also the founder and director of the CU Center for COMBAT Research. There, he applies military insights to medical innovation. He is also the Strategic Lead for the CU Marcus Institute for Brain Health. Bebarta is a colonel and senior advisor to the Office of the Chief Scientist, 59th Medical Wing, US Air Force Reserves. Bebarta has secured significant NIH and DoD funding and contributed to over 250 peer-reviewed publications. As a federally funded researcher, Bebarta targets critical military, veteran, and public health needs, which drives outcomes that impact lives.
