Victoria Kolankiewicz

Victoria is an urban historian with a diverse range of interests, predominantly centred in twentieth-century (sub)urban Melbourne. She is currently awaiting the conferral of a Doctor of Philosophy. Her PhD thesis focused on Melbourne's urban bluestone quarry sites and identified regulatory weaknesses with respect to their historic re-use and remediation. She is presently a research assistant for the ARC-funded Australia's New Cities: Past, Present And Future (DP190101093) project. She is also co-authoring a book chapter on ‘zombie subdivisions,’ based on two papers delivered at the State of Australian Cities Conference (2016, 2019).
