- Research Engineer, Maintenance Technology Institute, Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Monash University
Varun did his PhD at Monash University in the field of modelling of diesel engine NOx and soot emissions. During his post-graduate studies, he delivered guest lectures on internal combustion engines for undergraduate Thermodynamics courses. He currently works at the Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Monash University on improving diesel particulate filtration systems in underground coal mines. He manages Monash Diesel Engine Facility, Laboratory for Turbulence Research in Aerospace and Combustion, and undertakes consultation and research supervision work in the following fields:
-Internal combustion engines
-NOx and soot formation
-Emissions aftertreatment tecnologies
-Alternative fuels
-Combustion
-ORC Waste Heat Recovery
-Heat transfer
