Vanessa Miller

Vanessa Miller is a Lecturer specialising in Classroom Management in the Faculty of Education at Southern Cross University. She recognises classroom management as a complex and multifaceted discipline, encompassing the preventative and responsive strategies teachers use to support and facilitate academic and social-emotional learning. Vanessa believes that understanding and addressing the wellbeing and identity of both students and teachers is key to navigating this complexity. Drawing on over 30 years of experience in school and tertiary education as a Teacher, School Counsellor, Head of Primary, and Lecturer, Vanessa is passionate about helping teachers create classroom environments where all members can flourish, recognising the key role of the profession readiness of preservice teachers, and teacher and student agency.
