- Adjunct Professor of Forest Resources Management and MGEM Program Advisor, University of British Columbia
I received a PhD in 2011 from the Integrated Remote Sensing Studio in the Department of Forest Resources Management / Faculty of Forestry (University of British Columbia). Since then, I have been using remotely sensed and geospatial data to map distribution and dynamics of tropical forests, contextualize change, and work with local interests on forest management (conservation, restoration, reduced-impact use). These projects also involve alternative livelihoods, safeguarding biodiversity, education, and health-care. I am currently employed as an Adjunct Professor at UBC where I helped establish and run the Master of Geomatics for Environmental Management (MGEM) Program. I also work as a Geospatial and Blue Forests Science advisor for Blue Ventures Conservation and as a Forest Carbon and Geospatial Scientist for NatureBank.
