Trang Chu is a doctoral researcher at University College London (UCL) studying how language shapes emotional experience — and what that means for the decisions people make under pressure. She spent over two decades as a Managing Director in global capital markets at Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch before turning that experience into a research agenda. She advises leading hedge fund and private equity professionals on how to harness their emotions to enhance decision-making.
She is an Associate Fellow at University of Oxford Saïd Business School, lecturing on the role of emotions in high-stakes decision-making. Her work has appeared in The Guardian, Forbes, The Conversation, Blue Sky Thinking and other major publications.
Trang is completing her doctoral research under the supervision of Dr David Vinson. She holds an MSc in Cognitive and Decision Science from UCL, an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a BSc in Economics and International Politics from New York University.
