• Professor in Microbiology, UNSW

I am an environmental microbiologist and study the diversity and function of microorganism in environments ranging from the ocean, to soil to the human body.

I study how microorganism cause disease or provide benefits to host organisms, such as marine sponges, seaweeds or humans.

I am passionate about gaining a fundamental understanding of the diversity and function of the microbial world around us as there is still so much more to explore and to discover.
