Tony Heynen

Dr Tony Heynen is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Chemical Engineering and Program Coordinator for UQ's innovative Sustainable Energy program, which develops change-makers to lead the shift towards equitable, reliable and affordable clean energy.

Tony is an active researcher in energy access and its links to development - leading a number of studies in India, Timor-Leste and Papua New Guinea. Tony's other key research focus is the nexus of sustainability and legacy in mega-events, such as the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Tony is a Chartered Professional Engineer in the field of environmental engineering, and has previously worked for Italian energy giant Eni as Country Manager in Timor-Leste.
