- PhD Candidate, Concordia University
I am a PhD candidate interested in using musical rhythm along with behavioural and neuroimaging methods to explore the intersection between perceptual and motor timing, sensory-motor integration, attention and reward processes.
I completed my B.Sc in psychology in 2012 and an M.A. in psychology in 2014 at Concordia University. For my Ph.D. work I am using fMRI to investigate the effects of rhythmic complexity and maintaining a beat on activity in motor and pre-motor brain regions. I am also working on a project in collaboration with Dr. Maria Witek and Professor Peter Vuust investigating how the interaction of rhythmic and harmonic complexity affects music-evoked pleasure and activation in reward networks in the brain.
