I'm a lecturer in Sport Sociology at Lincoln University, New Zealand. My research focuses on the way in which people interact and make sense of their social worlds within sporting environments. In particular, I explore displays of masculinity within sport, socio-cultural perspectives of concussion, and the impact of professionalisation on youth sport in New Zealand. While I used to be found on a rugby field, now in my spare time I am more likely to be chopping a golf ball out of the rough or stuck in the back corner of a squash court.
