Dr Todd Fernando is a Wiradjuri–Gomeroi policy strategist, researcher and public leader whose work spans academia, government and community.
Todd’s work focuses on social policy, systems reform, belonging and the design of institutions that better reflect the lives and experiences of the communities they serve. He has served as Victoria’s Commissioner for LGBTIQ+ Communities, was appointed as a Treaty Commissioner in New South Wales, and contributed to Australia’s national Rapid Review of Prevention Approaches to family, domestic and sexual violence.
Across nearly two decades of public, academic and community leadership, Todd has worked to bring lived experience, cultural knowledge and practical reform into public decision-making. He is particularly committed to ensuring that people who are routinely excluded from policy debates are not only heard, but have meaningful influence over the systems that shape their lives.
His work continues to advance more humane, accountable and community-led approaches to public policy and institutional reform.
