Tina Makereti (Te Ātiawa, Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāti Rangatahi-Matakore, Pākehā) is the author of three novels, most recently The Mires (Ultimo Press 2024). An essay collection, This Compulsion in Us, will be published in 2025 by Te Herenga Waka Press. Tina also co-edited an anthology that celebrates Māori and Pasifika writing, Black Marks on the White Page (Vintage, 2018). Tina convenes one of the MA Creative Writing workshops at the IIML, Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington.
