Tim Jackson is an economist who investigates bank regulation and its links to macro-economic stability. His papers discuss how financial regulation can be best tailored to suit societal goals. He completed his PhD on the proposal to limit deposit insurance to safe assets, or "narrow banking" - a policy as old as deposit insurance but has not yet been tried.
