After a 2 year postdoctoral fellowship at Johnson Space Center, I have been at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) for 28 years. My research is focused on understanding the melting of small bodies in the Solar System and I have worked on six (6) robotic spacecraft missions (NEAR, Dawn at Vesta, MER, MESSENGER, OSIRIS-REx, Psyche). In addition, I am one of the curators of the US National Meteorite Collection and work on public education and exhibits, including the Geology, Gems and Minerals Hall at NMNH.
