My research focuses on the extinction of parasites and the development of approaches for parasite conservation. The project involves evaluating the extinction risk of threatened parasite species, as well as engaging with conservation practitioners to understand different social and biological barriers to parasite conservation. I am also interested in the philosophy of conservation and how this applies to parasites – in particular the question of what kinds of value can be found in nature and whether this supports parasite conservation.
