Tim Wegenast

Tim Wegenast é cientista político com doutorado pela Universidade Pompeu Fabra, na Espanha. É pesquisador sênior da Universidade de Konstanz, na Alemanha, e professor visitante na Universidade de Lucerna, Suíça. Sua pesquisa se concentra em desenvolvimento sustentável, governança ambiental, gestão de recursos naturais, e estudos sobre paz e conflitos.

I’m a senior researcher and lecturer working at the intersection of sustainable development, international political economy, and peace and conflict studies. My expertise spans natural resource governance, sustainable land use, climate change adaptation and mitigation, and preventing intra-state conflicts. I’m motivated by transdisciplinary collaboration and committed to research that informs policy and real-world decisions.

My academic journey began with a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. Since then, I’ve held positions at the University of Konstanz, University of Mannheim, Zeppelin University, University of Zurich, University of Lucerne, and the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA). After spending more than 17 years in Brazil and gaining professional experience in Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and the USA, I bring a multicultural perspective to my work.
