I am a PhD student at the University of Bath, based in the Milner Centre for Evolution. With an academic background in Anthropology/ Archaeology and Palaeobiology (at the University of Bristol), I am now working to understand if- and how- evolution leads to predictable patterns in biological complexity. This research includes empirical analyses of biological complexity across macroevolutionary timescales (primarily focusing on arthropods groups), as well as philosophical work to better understand how patterns of evolutionary directionality can emerge in complex, multi-part biological systems.
