- Researcher, Centre for Archeological Science, University of Wollongong
I am an archaeologist interested in the emergence and dispersal of modern humans, especially in Southeast Asia.
My research interests are in settlement archaeology, and in particular in the adaptation of the past humans to the various environments in which they lived.
I have undertaken archaeological research mostly in the Indonesian archipelago. I was co-director of the Liang Bua excavation on the island of Flores (Indonesia), including during the period of discovery of a new species of tiny human, Homo floresiensis ('Hobbit').
