- Professor of Government and International Affairs, Kennesaw State University
My areas of interest in teaching and research include Latin American politics, international relations, and US foreign policy. I have two current research projects: one project explores the role of the Peace Corps in US foreign policy in Africa and the other examines great power competition in Latin America. My most recent publication is a research article titled 'The Popular Perception of China in Latin America and the Role of Confucian Institutes' in the journal Questions in Politics. In 2018, I published a book titled The Peace Corps and Latin America: In the Last Mile of US Foreign Policy (Lexington Books). Before my career in academia, I served for 27 months as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic.
