- Postdoctoral research fellow in aeroecology, University of Leeds
I am a postdoctoral research fellow in aeroecology at the University of Leeds. I work on the NERC-funded BioDAR project, aiming to use the UK Met Office's weather radar network to detect and map aerial insect diversity in the lower atmosphere. I am also in the final stages of completing my PhD on insect pollinator monitoring, focusing on examining sampling bias in pan trapping and on testing novel acoustic survey methods.
As an entomologist I am primarily interested in the different survey methods we use to monitor insect communities, and particularly the use or adaptation of novel technologies to ecological monitoring. I also dabble in general insect ecology, conservation, and machine learning. I like anything six-legged, but have a soft spot for bees, wasps, and hoverflies.
