Dr. Themba Titus Sigudu (he/him) is a highly experienced public health academic, epidemiologist, and environmental health practitioner with over 25 years of progressive experience in teaching, research, and health systems management. He currently serves as Undergraduate Academic Coordinator and Lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he oversees curriculum development, assessment processes, and postgraduate supervision within the School of Public Health.
He holds a PhD from the University of South Africa (2025), a Master of Public Health in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from the University of Pretoria (2010), and qualifications in Environmental Health and Geographic Information Systems. His expertise includes public health, epidemiological surveillance, biostatistics, outbreak investigation, health programme evaluation, and research management, with advanced proficiency in STATA, SPSS, R, and Epi Info.
Dr. Sigudu has published and reviewed widely on antimicrobial resistance, zoonotic infections, water quality, and public health surveillance, and is committed to advancing evidence-based public health, One Health integration, and capacity building across South Africa and beyond.
