Terry Mitchell is a Professor at the Balsillie School of International Affairs, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. She is a non-Indigenous scholar who has worked on Indigenous rights issues with Indigenous Peoples throughout her life. She is the Director of the Indigenous Rights and Resource Governance Research Group. Her current research funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) engages Indigenous Peoples and allied scholars within Canada and South America on studying the implementation of UNDRIP and the right to Free Prior and Informed Consent.
