Terry Bradford

(he/him)

I teach French, translation, & interpreting at the University of Leeds. I have been a professional translator since 2001. Having hit 50, I have turned my hand to literary translation. Wakefield Press (USA: Cambridge, MA) have published four of my translations and LUP have published one. I currently have contracts with Snugglybooks and Keruan Serai for titles forthcoming.

My Ph.D. looked at the work of Raymond Jean. My research and scholarship, these days, focus on creative translation and the pedagogy of translation & interpreting.

In 2010, I passed the Metropolitan Police Course in Translation & Interpreting (certificate awarded by the IoL) - this enabled me to be NRPSI-registered from 2011-13. In 2017, I was awarded fellowship of the HEA.
