Dr Terence Day is a geographer who undertakes research in undergraduate teaching and learning in physical geography. Prior to the pandemic he wrote one of the first peer-reviewed papers on teaching under emergency conditions. Since then he has led a team of geographers from Canada, the US, and Hong Kong to research the immediate effects of COVID-19 on undergraduate education with the results published in Fall 2020. A new paper on what was learned from the the online pivot during the pandemic will be published shortly in The Professional Geographer.
Dr Day has also published peer-reviewed research on physical geography education in The Canadian Geographer, Progress in Physical Geography, International Journal of Science Education, Geography, Journal of Geography, Sustainability etc. He also co-authored the entry on fieldwork and contemporary pedagogy in the Wiley-AAG International Encyclopedia of Geography.
