Taylor Remsburg received her B.A. in Sociology with a double major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Political Science from Mount Saint Mary’s University in May of 2019. She began her graduate studies at West Virginia University in August of 2019. She is received her M.A. in Sociology in 2022 and successfully completed her comprehensive exams in 2024. She proposed her dissertation in February of 2025 and is now ABD. Taylor is a masculinity scholar with a focus on how masculinity is internalized and enacted by women in organizational contexts and how this internalization and enactment reproduces inequality. Her dissertation will focus on graduate women from various academic STEM contexts, investigating whether they internalize and enact masculinity and how this potential internalization and enactment impacts attitudes toward gender diversity initiatives in STEM.
