Tarcísio Diniz Magalhães

(He/him/his)

Assistant Professor of International and European Tax Law at the University of Antwerp, where I research how taxation intersects with sustainability, global governance, and digitalization. I lead the tax and sustainability research line at the Antwerp Tax Academy and supervise PhD and postdoc researchers at the DigiTax Center of Excellence. My work draws on critical sociolegal approaches to explore how tax norms shape resource distribution within and across societies. I’ve held research positions in Brazil (UFMG), Canada (McGill), the Netherlands (IBFD), Austria (WU Vienna), Germany (Max Planck Munich), and the US (UW-Madison). In 2020, I was named one of the 35 Leaders of the Future in Taxation (TaxCOOP), and my publications have appeared in leading journals, including World Tax Journal, Intertax, European Law Open, and Harvard Law and Policy Review.
