I'm a second year PhD student on the Convex Seascape Survey, a five-year collaborative project led by the University of Exeter, Blue Marine Foundation and Convex Insurance. Within this, I'm specifically researching how protection from seabed-disturbing activities such as trawling and dredging impacts invertebrate communities within and on top of the seabed, and their capacity for storing what we term 'blue carbon'. Understanding this will offer insight into how best protect and integrate the ocean in humanity's management of climate change.
