I am a PhD candidate in Canadian Studies at Carleton University, where my doctoral research traces the movements of a Black family engaged in sex work in nineteenth-century Ontario, drawing on Black feminist theory, Black geographies, and archival methodology. I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education and am an elementary school teacher in Ontario public schools. My work is animated by the belief that Black women's lives, past and present, speak to us across time, and that Black futures are crafted from that inheritance.
