Sylvie Magerstaedt

Sylvie Magerstaedt's key research interests are at the intersection between cinema (and TV), philosophy and religion. She has always attempted to combine her experience of working in the media industries (TV production and PR) with her passion for interdisciplinary research and scholarship. Sylvie is particularly interested in the ways in which culture impacts on creative media content (in particular film and television) and how in turn these media impact on culture and society. She has published four books on topics ranging from the ethics of science fiction, fantasy epics and myth, to ancient history in film and TV. Her latest book 'Screening Roman Britain - Film and Television between Myth and History' explores the links between history, culture and contemporary issues of identity.
