Sylvia completed her PhD in 2013 with a thesis title - ‘Impacts of fishing regulations on the sustainability of Murray crayfish (Euastacus armatus), NSW: Social and biological perspectives. She has 21 years of professional experience in natural resource management and conservation, scientific research, threatened fish and crayfish conservation, introduced fish management, urban wetland management, social science and creating links between the community. Sylvia a strong level of interest in communicating research with various groups through university lectures, verbal presentations at national and international conferences, interviews, participating in boards/committees and engaging with and presenting to school, community, government and scientific groups.
