Susuana Amoah is a London-born, Brighton-based cultural activist, curator and interdisciplinary artist.
She is currently a PhD researcher at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she is researching decolonial curatorial practices in contemporary art galleries. This study explores how cultural equity can be realised in public contemporary art galleries in England through decolonial approaches to curatorial practice.
Susuana is passionate about socially-engaged art, fugitive feminism and exploring creative ways of highlighting narratives and social movements by marginalised groups. She was previously the National Women’s Officer at the National Union of Students (2014-16). Susuana is also a member of the Black Curators Collective and is the Campaign Manager at the Free Black University.
