Her research explores (frugal) innovation, circular economy, and sustainable development from socioeconomic perspectives, focusing on the role of local grassroots enterprises in the Global South and the collaboration between private and public actors as change agents for sustainable development. Taking an interdisciplinary approach, she challenges traditional development pathways by examining complex and collaborative efforts required to achieve sustainable development goals.

Her work has been published in leading journals, including Technovation, Business Strategy & Development, and Technological Forecasting & Social Change. Before her academic career, she gained extensive experience as a policy researcher, consultant, and practitioner in international economic policy, trade, and international development.
