- Assistant Professor, Universitas Katolik Indonesia Atma Jaya
Stephani Dwiyanti is an assistant professor at Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia’s School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Her scholarly work encompasses biomaterials for guided tissue regeneration, clinical management of peri-implant conditions, and interdisciplinary research at the interface of systemic health and oral disease.
She is actively involved in curriculum development, clinical pedagogy, and academic quality assurance, with a particular focus on integrating oral health into medical education. Her role highlights the growing recognition that oral conditions—such as periodontal disease and oral inflammation—are closely linked to systemic health, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
Beyond research, she is engaged in community-based oral health initiatives that aim to strengthen health literacy and preventive behaviours among children and families. Her involvement includes school-based oral health education sessions and caries-prevention activities in both urban and semi-urban primary schools. These initiatives support early detection, behaviour change, and equitable access to oral health information in underserved communities.
Alongside her academic work, she also practices as a clinician, providing periodontal and implant care. This dual role allows her to bridge evidence-based knowledge with real-world clinical experience, ensuring that both her teaching and research remain grounded in the everyday challenges and complexities of patient care.
