Steff King (they/them) is a PhD candidate in the School of Criminology at Simon Fraser University. Their research analyzes death investigation procedures conducted for Indigenous cases with emphasis on partnering with community advocates to demand accountability and establish culturally appropriate investigative standards.
Steff is also acting lab manager and co-supervisor for the Forensic Entomology Lab within the SFU Centre for Forensic Research. They come from an archaeological background focusing on repatriation, community collaboration, and challenging colonial institutional practices.
