Stefan Nygard

I am an intellectual historian of the 19th and 20th centuries, with a special focus on Northern Europe. I currently work on the social history of “the intellectual” in Finland and Scandinavia. My previous work deals with the history of philosophy, cultural transfers and the history of the avant-gardes. I have taught on these subjects at the University of Helsinki, where I am currently based as an Academy of Finland researcher, and at the European University Institite in Florence.
