Sophia Alex Walters

I am currently a PhD candidate in Anthropology at the University of British Columbia. During my undergraduate studies in Linguistics at UBC, I worked as a Research Assistant in a socio-phonetics lab for two years. I completed my Master of Science in Mexico, where I conducted research with Tojol-ab'al Maya storytellers and collaborated on a series of cultural projects in Zoque and Tsotsil Maya communities. Throughout my PhD, I have served as a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant, contributing to departmental communications, event organization, and audiovisual production, as well as conducting research on the impact of far-right politics on climate policy in Argentina.
