Songyi Yan

Dr Songyi Yan is a Senior Lecturer in Sustainable Fashion Management. Her research explores sustainability, circular economy, and microfibre pollution in the fashion industry, with a growing focus on how sustainability is communicated by relevant stakeholders and interpreted by the public.
Songyi’s work on microfibre pollution earned her 3rd place in the prestigious Professor Michael J Baker Doctoral Thesis Awards in 2023. Her research has been published in the Journal of Fashion Marketing & Management and in Sustainability in the Textile and Apparel Industries, a Springer book edited by leaders in the field. She also serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Consumer Behaviour, European Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Marketing Management.
