Sofie Abildgaard Jacobsen

  • PhD Candidate in the Department of Clinical Medicine - Clinic for Functional Disorders, Aarhus University

My methodological expertise encompasses epidemiology, biostatistics, and qualitative research, supported by extensive experience working across both population-based and clinical cohorts. A central strength lies in navigating and shaping central scientific processes, including the development, validation, and refinement of conceptual frameworks and measurement tools. This is exemplified by my scientific contribution: the development and validation of the WICAC scale, designed to assess complex psychosocial dimensions. Alongside this, I have initiated and implemented similar concept-driven projects in non-academic contexts, contributing to concept development in both institutional and volunteer-driven initiatives.
My primary research interests concern the biopsychosocial consequences of sexual abuse, with an emphasis on the complex mechanisms. Furthermore, I am broadly engaged in issues related to the inequality in health as well as the interface between research and clinical practice, with a commitment to bridging empirical evidence and real-world applications.
