Sofia C. Samper Carro

I am an archaeological scientist based in the Australian National University and an Associate Investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Australian Biodiversity and Heritage
I specialise in the study of animal and human bones from archaeological sites dating from 80,000 years ago to the present. I investigate how different human species interacted with other animals in the past across Spain, Indonesia, Timor-Leste and Australia.

I hold a BA in History (2005), a MsC in Palaeontology (2009), a MsC in Osteoarchaeology (2011), a PhD in Prehistoric Archaeology (2015) and a second PhD in Archaeology (2019). I am a experienced researcher, with over fifteen years of fieldwork experience and over 10 years of experience as a researcher in different international institutions.
