Siobhan is an interdisciplinary, veterinarian-researcher and public health epidemiologist with major interests in surveillance and response to emerging diseases that spread between animals and humans (zoonoses). She leads the Epidemiology and One Health group at the University of Sydney, with current projects focusing on:

- emergence of brucellosis (Brucella suis) in NSW
- environmental Salmonella in NSW
- One Health efficacy of Australian GPs and veterinarians
Africa
- cryptospordiosis in children and adults in Uganda
- Ebola virus and other zoonoses in pigs in Uganda
- cattle vector-borne diseases and climate change in Tanzania
