Simona graduated in Law with a specialisation in International and EU Law in 2021 and later completed a second-level Master’s in International Public Affairs. She gained experience in the climate and energy sector in Brussels, working in project management and EU trade, climate, and energy affairs, with expertise in decarbonisation, REPowerEU, Fit for 55, and EU trade negotiations. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Ecological Transition at the University of Palermo, focusing on the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and its implications for Mediterranean countries. She is currently doing a visiting research period at Lund University.
