Simon Drew

(He/Him)

I am an environmental scientist with extensive and intensive experience of working in environmental research and monitoring. Generally this is based in aquatic settings including streams, rivers, estuaries, lakes and marine environments. I also have worked on terrestrial projects including the management of infrastructure development sites (buildings and renewable energy projects). I have worked in industry as an environmental consultant and in universities as a knowledge exchange specialist developing peat land stakeholder networks to manage infrastructure developments on peatlands. Since 2023 I have been a research manager at the University of British Columbia (Civil Engineering) managing a project examining the impact of a newly discovered car tire toxin (6PPD-quinone) which kills salmon at trace concentrations.
