Simon Chambers

Dr Chambers researches fields of cultural practice to understand how they evolve and the ways in which they are meaningful to audiences in contemporary society. His particular interest is how digital platforms are changing the way in which culture is produced and consumed. Since 2020 he has also been part of Western Sydney University's Advancing Media Literacy in Australia program of research, contributing to studies investigating media literacy among both young people and adults.

He has worked at arts and media organisations such as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), the Australian Music Centre and the Australasian Performing Right Association. In addition to his role at Western Sydney University he is also a Senior Consultant at The Insight Centre.
