- Research Fellow in Quantum Communication, University of Bristol
I am a Research Fellow at the University of Bristol. I work with the Quantum communication hub, the quantum-enhanced imaging hub QUANTIC and in other projects with industrial partners. Since 2016 I have been the co-coordinator for ESA’s Space QUEST mission to test the effects of gravity on quantum systems between the Earth and the International Space Station. From 2015 to 2018 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Quantum Optics and Quantum Information (IQOQI) in Vienna where I worked on space based quantum communication (Q3Sat and NanoBob missions), sources of entanglement, long distance fibre based quantum communications and quantum networks. I completed my PhD from the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) in the National University of Singapore in 2014. My work there included building a very high efficiency entangled photon pair source and bit commitment experiments.
I am an experimental physicist and I love quantum technologies right from the fundamental aspects to all their applications because it gives me the chance to turn yesterday’s impossibilities into tomorrow’s reality.
