Associate Professor Shuai Li is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow, a Dame Kate Campbell Fellow and a medically trained epidemiologist at the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics, University of Melbourne.

He currently leads the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Genetic Epidemiology for Precision Population Health. His research interest includes genetic and epigenetic epidemiology, twin and family research, and cancer risk modelling. He has won research funding of ~$14 million primarily from the NHMRC, NIH, Victorian Cancer Agency, Cancer Australia, Cure Cancer Foundation and Cancer Council Victoria.

He has been recognised by multiple prestigious research excellence awards, including the 2023 Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre Tony Burgess Medal, 2020 Runner-up for the Victorian Premier's Awards for Health and Medical Research, 2018 Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre Picchi Award for Excellence in Cancer Research, and 2015 Roger Williams Memorial Award of the International Genetic Epidemiology Society.
