I'm a Postdoctoral Associate at the Arctic Institute of North America (AINA), University of Calgary, here I’m part of the Arctic Genomics Project—a groundbreaking initiative focused on Arctic biodiversity, co-management, and the protection of Indigenous food systems.

At the core of my work is knowledge mobilization, ensuring that the science we generate doesn’t just stay in journals, but is accessible, actionable, and impactful. I work to connect genomic research with real-world conservation efforts, helping communities, decision-makers, and organizations use DNA-based tools and genomics to make informed choices that support both ecosystems and Indigenous livelihoods.

Trained as a conservation biologist, I started out with conventional methods—powerful but often time- and resource-intensive. Today, I combine that foundation with modern DNA-based technologies to generate faster, more precise data to meet urgent conservation needs.

My goal? To help create bridges between research, Indigenous knowledge, and policy—to protect the Arctic in a way that’s inclusive, forward-thinking, and deeply rooted in community.
