Shawn Simpson

I studied for my PhD under philosopher of art Noel Carroll and philosopher of language Stephen Neale. My specialty is in philosophy of art, philosophy of language, philosophy of biology, and ethics. My research focuses primarily on issues at the intersections of these areas.

I have worked as a Lecturer at Mississippi State University and am currently a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh. My first book - Art as Communication: Aesthetics, Evolution, and Signaling - is in out now with Rowman & Littlefield.
