Sharolyn Anderson

Sharolyn’s area of research is covered under the broad umbrella of Geographic Information Science; incorporating remote sensing, GIS development, citizen science and spatial analysis.

Her work has led to areas of ecosystem service valuation projects at local, national, and global scales with her studies involving modelling ecological processes from micro to macro scales most recently concentrating on the effect of light pollution. She currently models light pollution using satellite imagery and researches the impacts of artificial light at night (ALAN) on wildlife, humans, and ecosystems.

With research undertaken as a collaborative project through multidisciplinary research teams, Sharolyn’s particular focus through her publication record has covered a variety of topical areas, linked with the integration of remote sensing, GIS, GPS, and sociodemographic data to better understand the world.
