Septi Satriani

Septi Satriani is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Indonesia. She has worked as a researcher at the Research Center for Politics, the Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI), now known as the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), in Jakarta, Indonesia, since 2005. She earned an M.A. from Gadjah Mada University in 2016. She worked on several research topics, including local politics, conflict, and natural resource management. Some of the research was published in the Political Research Journal (P2P-LIPI), the Indonesian Journal of Political Research, and by National and International Publishers. The latest publication with the team was published on Springer Cham in February 2023 with the title “Post-Politicizing the Environment: Local Government Performance Assessments in Indonesia” and “The Transfer of the National Capital (IKN): Domination of the Capitalist Political Economy and the Dynamics of Local Representation” at ISEAS/ BRIN-2023 and Displaced by progress: The new capital development and the powers of exclusion in Balikpapan Bay, Indonesia at Ocean and Coastal Managemen, 2025.
