My scholarship examines how prejudice, stigma and social inequality shape health, identity and social life. I use social psychological, historical, quantitative, qualitative and community-engaged methods to study LGBTQ+ communities, sexual orientation and gender identity, racism, sexism, heterosexism and other forms of social marginalization. Across this work, I am interested in how research can document inequality, clarify its historical and social roots, and support more just institutions, policies and communities.
